User-facing changes

  • Conda has been updated to v25.1.1.
  • A conda plugin (conda-anaconda-tos) has been added that prompts users to accept or reject the Anaconda Terms of Service when updated terms are available. This plugin is currently inactive, pending the publication of a blogpost with further details about it (a link to the blog will also be added here when it is published).

User-facing changes

  • Conda has been updated to v24.11.1.
  • Significant improvements for uninstallers:
    • macOS and Linux installations now come with an uninstall.sh file that removes the Miniconda installation. Additional options allow users to remove data files ($HOME/.conda), .condarc files, and cache files during the uninstallation. For more information, see our documentation.
    • Windows uninstallers will come with an extra page that allows users to delete data files (%USERPROFILE%\.conda), .condarc files, and cache files during the uninstallation. For more information, see our documentation.
  • A new Anaconda telemetry plug-in has been added that captures anonymous data on package installation and searches. Anonymous telemetry data is collected for the following commands: conda create, conda install, conda search, and conda list.

User-facing Changes

  • Conda has been updated to v24.9.2.
  • A .condarc file is written into the installation directory to set the channel to Anaconda’s defaults channels.
  • Windows Start Menu entries are now inside separate Anaconda directories for each Miniconda installation.
  • For single-user installations, Anaconda Prompt and Anaconda PowerShell Prompt have been added to the Windows Terminal profile list and can be launched directly from the tab dropdown menu (Windows 11). Windows Terminal is available in the Microsoft Store.
