At Anaconda, Inc. (“Anaconda”), our mission is to empower individuals with data literacy, enabling them to ask better questions and make informed decisions. To maintain a productive and seamless experience across our Offerings, including all content provided, published, distributed, or transmitted by Anaconda through our Offerings, we require responsible use from our Users. This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) is an integral part of our Terms of Service (“TOS”) and outlines the behaviors and activities that are considered misuse or abuse of our sites and services. By using Anaconda’s Offerings, you agree to adhere to this Policy.
Use good judgment, act responsibly, and treat others with respect so that together, we can foster a positive and innovative community.
- Definitions. A capitalized definition that is not defined in this Section shall have the meaning attributed to it in Section 1 (Definitions) the Anaconda Terms of Service.
- Enforcement. Anaconda reserves the right to remove content or restrict access to our services if we determine that any activity violates the spirit or intent of this Policy, even if it is not explicitly prohibited. In other words, if conduct appears to be abusive, harmful, or disruptive—regardless of whether it is specifically listed here—we may take appropriate action.
- Updates. This Policy may be updated periodically. Updates will become effective as specified in the revised Policy or 30 days after posting, whichever is later. Continued use of Anaconda’s services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
- What is Prohibited By This Policy.
- Disruptive Activities. Disruptive Activities include, but are not limited to: (1) Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of systems or networks; (2) Tampering, reverse-engineering, hacking, or circumventing security measures; (3) Overloading infrastructure or using automated systems (e.g., robots or spiders) to overwhelm services; or (4) Using services beyond reasonable usage parameters or for unrelated purposes (e.g., excessive storage use).
- Wrongful Activities. Wrongful Activities include, but are not limited to: (1) Misrepresentation of identity, spoofing, phishing, or falsifying communication origins; (2) Unauthorized access or account creation using third-party names; (3) Violating privacy, collecting personal data without consent, or using the service for stalking or harassment; (4) Engaging in illegal activities or violating privacy, data, and export control laws; (5) Using unauthorized scraping or hidden text techniques; or (6) Engaging in illegal emergency response alerts or unsafe situations.
- Inappropriate Communications. Inappropriate Communications include, but are not limited to: (1) Generating unsolicited communications, spam, or advertising without authorization; or (2) Disparaging Anaconda, promoting unapproved products, or soliciting commercial purposes.
- Inappropriate Content. Do not post, share, generate, or submit content that:
- Infringes intellectual property, is deceptive, harmful, pornographic, defamatory, or encourages illegal conduct;
- Contains malicious content like viruses, bots, or worms;
- Promotes hate speech, discrimination, or harmful content based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or medical condition;
- Facilitates or promotes child sexual abuse, exploitation, illegal substances, or services;
- Encourages crimes, violent extremism, or terrorist-related content.
- Facilitates or generates spam, scams, phishing, malware, or deceptive activities;
- Attempts to bypass safety filters or promote harmful behavior like harassment, bullying, self-harm, or violence;
- Generates or distributes personally identifying information or monitors individuals without consent;
- Creates misleading or deceptive content, such as impersonation, false claims, or content that misrepresents expertise or origin;
- Generates content that could harm individuals or groups, particularly in sensitive areas like healthcare, finance, law, or employment; or
- Generates sexually explicit content, including for pornography or sexual gratification, excluding content for scientific, educational, or artistic purposes.
- Inactive Accounts. If an account is inactive, it may be suspended or terminated, and any associated user-generated content may be deleted. For paid services, Anaconda will provide at least 30 days’ notice before permanently deleting your account, unless suspension or termination is deemed necessary without notice. If the email linked to your account is invalid (e.g., due to bounce-back from inactivity notices), Anaconda may terminate the account without further notice. An account is considered inactive if: (1) There has been no login for at least six months; (2) No user-generated content was created or added within three months of account creation; or (3) For paid accounts, no valid or updated credit card information is provided for at least three months. This does not limit Anaconda’s right to terminate accounts for non-payment.
- Reporting Violations. Users should report violations of this Policy to User Care immediately for appropriate action. Possible actions include content removal, account suspension, and termination.
- Appeal and Reinstatement. Users may appeal enforcement actions by contacting User Care if they provide new information or agree to comply with policies moving forward.
